As the holidays near, many individuals are thinking about their gift list, but their budget as well. For many individuals not only is it time to start thinking about those holiday gifts, but there are those birthdays and anniversary gifts that roll around about the same time as well. Often, we find that our loved ones and friends have about anything imaginable, making it difficult to find that perfect gift. Today, there is much interest in gold and silver as investments.
Many individuals continue to search for those old coins, or maybe have collected them throughout the years. However, whether or not they are truly valuable is something that only an appraiser can determine. There are many things, such as the cleaning of old coins, which instantly decreases their value.
There are some great gift ideas made from coins..
Many individuals remember the old Indian penny, which is difficult to find. One perfect gift, using the Indian penny is a beautiful pendant necklace with the Indian penny being surrounded by genuine turquoise beads, hanging from a rope chain, for less than $30.
Money clips are great gifts especially when the design represents historical periods or favorite U.S. Presidents such as J.F.K while using the infamous JFK silver half dollar.
Cufflinks make a unique gift for men, whether they are family or the best man who deserves a special gift, using various coins such as the silver dime, or gold layered Buffalo nickel.
When purchasing gifts that are either created out of coins, or coins to add to one’s collection, it is important to always obtain a certificate of authenticity, which is a very important document when you have an item appraised for its value in the future.
Remember, whether you are purchasing a special gift,or something for a collector, keep in mind that not everything will appreciate. In fact, much of what is thought to have great value may not have any value at all. It is wise to do some research before you invest a lot of money into an item, they you think may increase in value. Everyone appreciates the gift that comes from the heart.
Hi Praveen, nice post and thanks for the links. I write a blog on Indian weddings and would like to share some of these designs with my readers. Some designs are rather unique. Thanks again for the share.
I love jewelries and I guess most women are. I hope that hubby will give me a necklace when his home.
I’ve always loved coins, even as a little kid. They make great gifts, especially for a person who collects them. Of course, some people are picky about what coins they like and dislike, but going to an appraisor can help you find out if its worth anything. If it is, then a collector will definitely appreciate it.
