The Naked Truth

The Naked Truth About Adrienne Smith

One of my favorite bloggers of all time, Adrienne Smith has been a pleasant acquaintance for quite a few months now. I have been a regular on her site – AdrienneSmith.net and the first things I am sure everyone will notice are the number of comments that she gets for each and every post of hers!!! If you notice her “Most Popular Posts” section, each of them have more than 150 comments to them and that is what makes AdrienneMost Popular” among all the bloggers out there.

All this shows how many bloggers follow her religiously and never fail to read all her posts. I have liked and commented on most of her articles in the recent days, which have been a great source of learning and information for me and inspired me a lot to keep up with my blogging during my down times. She has been there in support of my blog and has a lot of kind words written for many of my posts as well.

Adrienne has a gifted quality to sit in front of a camera and start recording her thoughts on any subject and she has the flair and oratory skills to do it in fashion. She has many video posts on her site and I am sure you will love all of them and if you aren’t her fan already, you will be I bet. If you have been following this series, DeeAnn has mentioned she reads Adrienne’s blog without fail every day (read here). It is also no surprise that Carolyn’s WonderOfTech has been named “The Blog I Follow” by Adrienne, both of whom are my favorite bloggers, each in their own way of writing.

Adrienne Smith
1.How long have you been blogging?About 2-1/2 years
2.How many blogs do you own and contribute for?I currently own eight blogs and contribute to six of them.
3.What is the main purpose or objective of your blog?I use it strictly for marketing purposes.
4.How many posts do you write on an average per week?I consistently write two posts a week.
5.How much time do you devote for your blog on a daily basis?Usually around an hour a day but on Monday’s and Thursday’s it’s a lot busier. Those are the days I posts and receive a lot of comments which I respond to each. So those times vary.
6.How much time do you spend on tracking RSS feeds? Not much at all. When I locate a blog I like I’ll subscribe and I don’t always view those feeds on a regular basis. I may track them a couple times a week.
7.What is your favorite social bookmarking site and Why?I don’t really have a favorite but I’m learning a lot more about StumbleUpon and I believe it’s moving up in the ranks now. The content I have located through this source has been awesome.
8.What is your blog’s monthly revenue?I don’t earn any income directly from my blog.
9.How many page views does your blog generate daily? My highest has been a little over 6,700 where my lowest has been around 3,700.
10.Name one blog (apart from yours!!) you read every day without fail. There isn’t really just one blog that I read every single day. I will say though that Carolyn’s http://www.wonderoftech.com posts more frequently and I refuse to miss one of her posts. If my other favorites posted daily, I’d do my best to drop by them as well.
11.What is your blog’s main revenue generator?I don’t earn any income directly from my blog.
12.Do you believe in Alexa rankings for measuring traffic?I think it’s a good indicator but nothing is ever spot on.
13.Do you accept Guest Articles on your blog?I just implemented this on my blog but it’s by invitation only. I would prefer giving my trusted and loyal readers an opportunity first.
14.Do you believing in spending money on promoting your blog?Yes
15.Do you answer to all the comments on your blog?Absolutely
16.How did you market your blog during your initial days to get the readers that you have?In the beginning I was taught to only write keyword rich posts and the visitors would come. Silly me for actually believing that. As of January 2011 (I look at this as my new beginning) the majority of my traffic started showing up from blog commenting. That also happens to be my favorite method as well.
17.Any mistakes to learn from and avoid?Don’t believe everything you read or hear. Seek out people you can trust and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
18.What is your source of new post ideas?I mainly post about things I’ve learned or what others would like to know. I’m always eager to help other people solve their problems.
19.Is having a “niche” important to bloggers? If you are blogging because you are building a business then absolutely. It’s best to enter into a niche you are passionate about because you will always have to come up with fresh new content and it makes it that much more enjoyable. It gives you a sense of direction and goals to achieve.
20.Any advice to a start-up blogger?Invest in your education and learn from those who are where you want to be. Never be afraid to ask questions.
21.Name a Blogger who inspires youI don’t just have one so my list would be rather long if I were to name them all. I certainly don’t want to show favoritism and leave anyone out.

  • Ah, how nice to see Adrienne’s smile!  It’s the way she responds to our comments – you can tell she has read the comment, thought about it, and responds in a positive manner.  Her desire to help others is genuine.

  • Well  Praveen, you really do pick some great people to interview.

I do my best to visit Adrienne’s blog regularly.  Her posts are full of terrific and useful information.  It’s always amazed me how she manages to not only, promptly reply to every one of her own comments but always has time to visit others.

Whenever I visit a blog, Adrienne’s smiling face pops up amongst the comments – she’s been there.  I can’t remember now where it was, but Barry Wells actually made it a point of mentioning in his comment he’d got there before Adrienne. 🙂

Nice one Praveen, thanks to both you and Adrienne.
    Julie

    • Julie – Welcome to my blog and thanks for leaving your comment. I agree that Adrienne is there everywhere and you can expect her to leave a detailed message about what she thought abt a post and she pours her heart out with each one of her comments.

I am glad you are already following her and nice to know you through this series. Hope to see you back soon.

    • Hey Julie,

Nice to see you, thank you for your thoughtful comment.

So glad you enjoy my posts.  I had a neighbor tell me today that he didn’t know how he was going to be able to come up with original content each week.  I said I blog twice a week and I thought he was going to faint.  I got a good chuckle though.I make the time to reply to comments and visit other blogs Julie.  I mean if you plan on building up a reputation and you want it to be good people definitely have to know who you are right!  It’s definitely worth the time to me.

You guys are on a different time zone so Barry beats me a lot of places.  That’s just not fair!  🙂  But, I love him anyway.

Thank you Julie and hope you’re enjoying your week.

      ~Adrienne

  • So glad you featured Adrienne as well Praveen- I was actually looking forward to it 🙂

Loved the interview Adrienne- in-fact anything to get to you know you a little better! I know we have met sometime back and comment on each others blogs, but there is so much I still need to learn from you 🙂

You are truly a source of inspiration and motivation to many like me, and I am so glad to be acquainted to you and through you, to so  many other wonderful bloggers as well.
I guess I must confess, I truly learnt how to reply to comments on your blog, as I see you do that so beautifully to each commenter. It comes through right from your heart, and connects so well- almost as if you are speaking to the commenter. I love doing the same now 🙂

And I never knew you had 8 blogs!! I just knew of the main one and home business one!! I guess I need to learn about the other 6 as well! Thanks so much for sharing Praveen- she is one of my favorites as well 🙂

    • Hi Harleena,

Sorry for the late response but you knew I’d be back by.Thank you so much for all your kind words.  I’ve done a few interviews now and a couple of videos sharing with people a little more about me.  Honestly, I don’t find myself very interesting but I guess everyone says that about themselves.  You know Harleena I really do appreciate people taking the time to stop by my place and then leave me a comment so everyone who visits my blog deserves the attention.  I’m just happy to know that my information has been helpful.  That really makes my day!

Yeah, my main blog and my training site are not all I do online which is why I’m always so darn busy.  But that’s okay, I love what I do.  :-)Thank you so much for your comment Harleena and it’s always a pleasure to see you anyplace, anytime!  Have a beautiful week.

      ~Adrienne

    • Harleena – Thanks for stopping by and I agree that even I did not know of all the other blogs Adrienne maintains. That was an eye-opener and a pleasant one at that. Now we have more blogs to follow and even more articles to read…yayyyyy!!!!

  • Okay Praveen,

I hopped over here to respond to some comments and realized that my comment I made right after you posted this is gone.  What happened?  It was here the other day.  Okay, if this ends up being some strange duplicate you’re going to have to delete this one okay!Let’s see, I had thanked you for this opportunity.  That I do know for sure.  I definitely am among some great people you’ve already interviewed so I really appreciate being included with the rest.  Thanks so much for this invitation.

You have become quite the interviewer Praveen.  Your blog is definitely moving up in the ranks that’s for sure.

Thanks again and I’ll be stopping back by soon.

    ~Adrienne

    • Hey Adrienne – I am sorry I am not sure what happened to your earlier comment. This is the 2nd time I am hearing this from my readers and it really is annoying.

Thanks for sharing all the information and making this a wonderful experience for me as well. I have learnt some new things about you and I hope my readers will find all this useful and would love to see more bloggers in this list.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      • I hate hearing that I’m not the only person it’s happened to but I’m glad also that I’m not the only one.  After I commented it posted so I went about my merry way having no idea it would disappear later.  I’ve never heard of that before Praveen so I sure hope some of my other comments aren’t doing the same thing.  Yikes!

Glad you learned some new things about me and hope they were all good!  🙂

Thanks again and have a great day!

  • Hey Praveen, I thought you said I was your favorite blogger……..

Yes, I know Adrienne well and she does a fabulous job. If you want to grow your community the ‘right’ way, Adrienne is one to emulate. She has a very strong, dedicate core to her community. Plus, she’s good people too…….

  • Hey Praveen,

Really cool interview here on one of my favorite bloggers and glad to know a little bit more about Adrienne as well.

I have been following her madly for a while lol as her stuff is simply amazing, I actually learned something new today from her blog so I would always recommend her for anyone out there trying to get new ideas or tips on marketing and blogs.

    Really great stuff, thanks! 😉

    – Sergio.

    • Thank you for the kind words Sergio…

So I’m one of your favorite bloggers, now I’m very touched.  You’re pretty darn awesome too Sergio.  Already connecting with the top income earners by Skype.  That’s what I’m talking about.  You’re a go getter.Glad my information is helpful and I do love to learn and share.  You do as well my friend so I always enjoy visiting your place.

Appreciate the kind words and hope you’re enjoying your day!

    • Sergio – Welcome to DMC and glad you liked the interview. I am sure you will learn a lot by following Adrienne everywhere she goes and visiting all the blogs she reads.

Keep up the great work and hope to see you back soon.

  • Hi Praveen,

Adrienne is my number one blogger and I make sure that I get to every post she publishes, even though more often than not a little late. I love the way she applies herself, responds to every comment and returns the visit. How she fits it all in is a wonder and to think she works on 6 blogs is outstanding.

You’re absolutely right about Adrienne’s video skills, she has a natural talent for facing the camera and is fluent with her directions/instructions.

I love the way Adrienne says it as it is and often tells people where they’re going wrong. She works tirelessly helping and encouraging others to improve and the fact that she has put a complete package together to help in peoples training and offers it free speaks volumes about the Lady.

In my book Adrienne is a perfect example of a Blogging Superstar and is setting the standards that I aim to achieve.

My only wish is that others follow her example and apply it to their own blogs.

Its hard to sum Adrienne up in one sentence but I often say that Adrienne is a star that shines brightly on people everywhere she goes.

Like I said, she’s my number one blogger…..

    All the best Praveen,
    Barry

    • Barry – Welcome to my blog and appreciate your comment on this post.

Yes, to do what Adrienne manages to do everyday, is itself a daunting task and I sometimes wonder how she can find time for all this….is her day longer than mine??

As rightly said by you, she is a Blogging Superstart and I am sure every blogger following her religiously will benefit from what she writes and what she shares on her blog. It has been a learning experience from the time I followed her and I plan to do so in future as well.

Thanks once again for all the kind words and hope to see you back soon here.

  • Thank you SO much Barry for your wonderful comment, I’m truly touched.

To think that when I started this I had no idea if I’d ever impact anyone’s life let alone help them in any way.  Not only do I love blogging and offering my advice but it warms my heart with all the relationships I’ve built due to having met them online.  You know you are included among this list.I really appreciate the continued support and all your wonderful comments on my posts.  I’ve learned so much from you as well which is why I enjoy visiting your place often too.

It touches my heart to hear that I’m your number one blogger.  I know there are so many fabulous bloggers online today so I’m truly flattered.

Thank you so much Barry for your wonderful contribution to this post and may you have a wonderful day!

    ~Adrienne

  • Dear Praveen,

I love your “Naked Truth About…” series.

I’m happy to see this one, in particular, as Adrienne Smith is undoubtedly at the top of my faves list. I’m pretty religious about reading her blog and sharing it with others because it’s been one of the most positive impacts on me in my own development as a blogger.

Adrienne is not only a great blogger to read from, but also just a righteous and cool lady to connect with!

Thanks for showcasing her here and sharing more about her!

    Best regards,
    Cat Alexandra

    • Hey Cat,

Sorry for the late response but I guess Praveen has problems with some of these comments going through and I did answer yours several days ago.  So let’s do this again shall we!Thank you for your oh so kind words Cat.  I really appreciate it and am so glad we connected online.  You also are a real classy lady and I love what you do for the blogging community.  We need more people who are just open and honest and not afraid to tell it like it is.  You’re at the top of that list.Thank you for your wonderful comment and am keeping my fingers crossed this one goes through this time.

      Have a wonderful day!~Adrienne

      • Hi Adrienne,

Yay, it worked! 🙂 I’m of the mindset that late is better than never! Guest post commenting, as I’ve recently discovered firsthand, may present some unique challenges! I’m just glad you and Praveen were able to get it figured out because one thing I know about you is that you are a “quick responder” to comments, so this must’ve been buggin ya!

You’re definitely worthy of praise, Adrienne. It’s not a common thing that so many people learn so much from one person…and you always make it fun. It’s kind of like stealth learning because you serve it up in such a social and engaging way. It’s an art you’ve mastered, my dear!

I was reading Carolyn’s comment and nodding because she’s right. You have learned all the tech stuff, served it up like some fun stuff, everyone walks away smiling and smarter than before…and I’ve just never seen anyone do it with such cool flair!

Keep on keeping on, Adrienne!! 🙂

        Cat

  • Hi Praveen and Adrienne, I’m not sure how I missed this post, but oh well, I’m here better late than never. I am thrilled you have featured Adrienne, Praveen. She is not only warm, welcoming and engaging, she is brilliant. She knows a lot about tech. Yes, that’s right, she is a tech guru, though she won’t admit it. She teaches tech in a manner that is easy to understand and interesting to learn, not an easy task.

But beyond even those amazing qualities, Adrienne’s most admirable quality is how helpful she is with others. Whenever I have reached out to Adrienne for help, she has always responded instantly.

She knows the ins and outs of WordPress, video, plugins and websites, and she shares her knowledge with others generously. It’s no wonder she shines on camera because her words practically glow on screen when she writes her posts.

I am honored that she named The Wonder of Tech as the blog whose posts she doesn’t miss. Although she is my tech guru, our tech worlds are very different so I really appreciate her coming to my tech world.

Thanks so much, Praveen, for featuring this truly special lady and dear friend here at your place.

    • You are too kind Carolyn, too kind.  Okay, I’m getting use to being called a tech person now.  Even though we still have different definitions of it.

Glad I’m able to help others with their learning more about blogging, videos, the right plug-ins, what they are for, etc.  Really glad people have been enjoying my videos, that’s always nice to hear.

I do love your blog Carolyn, you share some of the coolest things about gadgets and tech stuff that I really wish I knew more about.  But through you, I’m learning so you are helping so many people with your ongoing knowledge or what’s hot and what works best.

Appreciate you stopping by even if you are late to the party.  A pleasure to see you any time.  Now, have a great day!
