There is nothing like riding over open terrain on a quad. What might be considered obstacles for some vehicles are merely challenges for a quad or ATV. It’s fun to feel the wind blowing as you ride. Safety is an important factor too, which most quad owners are aware of. Most drivers try to be the safest they can be while operating their quad. Safety equipment, including a helmet, is crucial.
Quad Vehicles Are Useful Over Many Terrains
Quad vehicles are exceptional vehicles for traveling in rough areas. Places experiencing things like springtime thaws and areas with muddy terrain as well as isolated, brushy areas where other vehicles would have trouble going are where quad vehicles really shine. Quads were originally used in Japan in areas like these, making going over tough terrain easier for farmers and for others who needed to be able to conquer the most challenging, steepest, rockiest and roughest areas.
All terrain vehicles were introduced to the United States in the 1970’s. When they first came out, they had three wheels. The four-wheel quad versions came out in the middle 1980s and soon became the vehicle of choice for many ATV users. Sportsmen, farmers and other workers loved them for their superior versatility and exceptional handling, even in the worst conditions.
Quads Are Loved For Their Utility and For Recreational Purposes
Farmers loved quad vehicles because they were cheaper to run than big, bulky tractors and other farm implements. They could use them to get into the areas they needed to get into, do what they needed to do and get out again without using as much fuel. Farmers were also able to do more work, cheaper than they could before. Recreational riders love quads simply because they are fun to use. There is nothing like the feeling of being able to go over almost any terrain the way one can on a quad.
Hunters love quads because of their ability to carry equipment out to hunting sites and to carry game back again once they’ve been successful. Sportsmen love them as well for their versatility and the fun they offer when they’re being driven. Even businesses that have large, expansive warehouses or several buildings scattered on large patches of land love using quads as a handy way to travel between buildings. Quads are efficient and cheaper to use than many other vehicles.
Prices And Helpful Considerations When Buying New Or Used Quads
The most popular brands of quads include Honda, John Deere, Arctic Cat, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Polaris and Yamaha. To buy a quad in used condition, it will usually run between $2,000 to $10,000. Brand new, quads can be found for up to $16,000 for high-end models. Most mid-price range quads are found for between $7,000 and $10,000.
When considering a used quad vehicle, it is smart to do some research to find out vehicle’s Blue Book Value before buying. There are many important factors that go into price. They include the condition of the vehicle, its age, mileage and how well the vehicle was cared for. Vehicle amenities are also important, although they usually will not be that different between brands and types of vehicles. The important thing is to have a good idea of what you are looking for and the purpose your quad vehicle will be used for. This gives you a better idea of exactly what type of vehicle you need.

Hi Praveen,
Great post. Thank you for mentioning the use of quads in different areas like farming and then recreation. I am based out of US. So, in India is ATV popular ? Is there are quite a lot of trails where we can enjoy the ride ? I am coming to India for visit in 2018 winter and would love to check places where we can do some adventure activities. May be rent a SXS and go for a local ride. Is that possible ?
