Use Apps to Find Cheap, Last-Minute Flights Like a Travel-Planning Pro

Last Minute Flight Apps

Believe it or not, last-minute flight booking can actually be easy. Yeah, we didn’t believe it at first, either, but then we did a little digging to see what last-minute deals we could find on flights. Turns out, there’s a lot out there, but navigating the hundreds of flight-booking resources can overwhelming (if not a real pain). On the positive side, there are apps to make the process much easier!

Best 10 Last Minute Flight Booking Apps

During our research, we came across a website with a list of the best 10 apps for booking flights at the very last minute. After doing some additional research into how the apps work, we narrowed down our favorites to the best three, which we’ve included below.

Kiwi.com – Rating: 4.3, Downloads: 1M

It’s true that very few of us dare to experiment with the flight routes when it comes to purchasing airline tickets; it’s honestly quite a scary thing to do. That’s why Kiwi is such a great app. It balances all available prices for you, constantly coming up with new and innovative fight combinations to find the best one that fits your schedule and your wallet. Kiwi also has a guarantee that covers missed and canceled flights. Plus, you can easily upload all your travel documents into the app for easy access.

Kiwi truly does offer amazing deals, which is awesome, but we did uncover a few reviews in our research that reported bad customer service experiences. Of course, those are just a few among many, so you’ll have to determine how much weight to give that information.

Pros: Get cheap, last-minute flights by combining multiple flight routes

Cons: Reports of bad experiences with customer service

Overall: Keep in mind that there have been reports of negative customer service experiences, but with so much last-minute savings, you’ll have to determine what’s more important to you

Jetradar – Rating: 4.6, Downloads 1M

If you fly often, then you’ll be sure to find Jetradar really helpful. You have the ability to set multiple alerts for flight prices and then sync your findings to your profile so all your info can be accessed easily. The user-friendly interface neatly organizes your alerts, booked flights, favorited flights, and passenger data on a single screen for you to look at any time you want.

We would like to note that you may find it takes a little bit of time to load your search results. There’s so much information coming through the app that it’s not always as fast as you might want it to be. Just like with Kiwi, you’ll have to determine what’s more important: super speed or fantastic deals.

Pros: Get price alerts for flights that enter your budget range, keep all of your flight info in one place

Cons: App search can take a bit of time to load results

Overall: As long as you’re patient, you’ll have a wide assortment of flights in your price range to choose from

Hopper – Rating: 4.8, Downloads: 10M

Of the three apps on this list, this is certainly the most recognizable name. As we said before, searching for cheap, last-minute flights can be overwhelming. That’s where Hopper comes in. Hopper locates all the cheapest tickets currently available and then instructs you if it’s better to buy now or wait for an even bigger discount. Yeah, that’s right, Hopper predicts the future!

Using Hopper can get a bit tricky from time to time. Just be sure you’re paying attention to all the details before you book; otherwise, you might find yourself in a bit of a pickle. Make sure to always read the fine print so you know what to expect.

Pros: You have your pick of an enormous amount of last-minute flight deals

Cons: It’s important to read the fine print to fully understand what you’re buying

Overall: As long as you read the fine print, you’ll be traveling in no time

Conclusion

Seriously, if you’re a frequent last-minute flyer, you don’t want to live another day without one (or all) of these apps! With these resources at your aid, you will be able to not only book the flights you want when you want but also save money in the process. And what’s better than that? When it comes to last-minute flight-booking apps, these are by far the best. You can take our word for it!
