Get Paid To Write A Guest Post!!

Are you a freelance writer? Do you love the passion for writing original articles about varying topics? I am certain you would have submitted many articles to many blogs and websites where they would have published them and provided a link back to your social profile or even a personal website. Today there are many blogs which accept Guest Posts, including mine (check out Write For DMC), where writers can get noticed a little bit more by submitting quality content. However, my website is considerably new, owned and maintained by myself and I do not have the monetary pleasure of rewarding my guest writers for their awesome articles. Many such websites and blogs are out there where you can gain publicity and popularity among readers, but not gain any revenue from the same.

I went about searching the web for all such websites which actually pay a nominal amount to writers for submitting their posts and I did find quite a few which are legitimate and have some good reviews among the writers. I thought I should share this with my readers who may be interested in checking them out and maybe even benefit from the same. I certainly agree that writers’ time should not be taken for granted and it is well worth a fee of any sort, and I am glad that there are these websites which recognize their talent, time and devotion. So, if you are in the right field of writing, I bet you wouldn’t miss out on experimenting these sites below.

Guest Blogging is pretty easy for professional writers, an optimum size of an article can vary around 500-600 words, with good grammar and flow of thoughts. Originality is the key for getting through these websites, and the quality of the content determines how much you get paid for it. Most of them pay anywhere between $30 to $120 per article depending on the above factors.

1. KrazyCouponLady

This website is owned and maintained by none other than Heather Wheeler and Joanie Demer who have been featured on The Today Show, The Early Show, TLC Extreme Couponing, The Nate Berkus Show, Fox & Friends and many other leading newspapers and TV Shows. One should take a look at their “About” page for pure motivation and encouragaement. However, their blog is open for guest articles which can be about Style, Fashion, Couponing, Travel, Entertainment etc and they promise a $50 per article if and when accepted, directly paid to your PayPal Account. Isnt that sweet?? Check out more info at their guest post submission guidelines.

2. MakeALivingWriting

As the name itself suggests, this website is all supportive for paying writers for their work. They expect you to submit your topic of interest to be approved for submission and it may take a while to get published since the site accepts 2-3 guest posts per month. But hey, they also pay a $50 per piece and why not huh?? Check out more info at their guest post submission guidelines.

3. OneSpoonAtATime –

Here is another website paying a solid $50 per guest article!!! As any other, the author needs to provide a pitch about the article first using the contact form, including the title and a small paragraph about the article. They accept articles related to the niche of the site like video marketing, writing & blogging techniques etc. Again paid by PayPal. Check out more info at their guest post submission guidelines.

4. FreelanceSwitch –

Here is a website where they are looking for extensive How-To Guides, Writing for the Web, Social Media write-ups, demonstrating expertise in any such areas of interest. They too pay $50 per post and due to the heavy volume of guest articles they receive, the website owner has stated if you do not hear from them in 2 weeks after submission, you can approach any other website!!! Check out more info at their guest post submission guidelines.

5. ProBlogDesign –

Are you into Blog Designing and can write tutorials on how to setup a blog and some complex coding for HTML and CSS? Then look no further than the ProBlogDesign website to submit your tutorials or articles, and guess how much they are willing to pay you…$100 to $125!!!!! So what are you waiting for, just click on the link below to read their guest post guidelines and get started. Check out more info at their guest post submission guidelines.

6. TechBulletin –

If you are into the latest technological updates, maybe regarding latest gadgets, phones, laptops, games etc., then TechBu is a site where you can submit your article and get it published almost immediately. The payout is a little less at $8 per article with a minimum of $15 to get paid, but it gets noticed with almost 3000 page views per day. Check out more info at their guest post submission guidelines.

Not Always About Money –

A freelance writer should also remember that all his hardwork is worth every penny paid, but it is not always about money, they should also build up their portfolio and have enough published articles to prove their worth. So, if you get a request to submit guest articles at websites who are not able to pay you, you can check out their web stats and traffic, and maybe the Google PageRank, and decide to take up those assignments as well.

Tell Us About Your Experiences as a Guest Writer –

Have you submitted articles to other websites? Have you been paid for them? What are your experiences in dealing with sites who pay and those who do not? Are there any sites that you know which boast of paying, but never really do so? I would like to hear about them and share with my readers as well. Do not hesitate to leave a comment below. Thanks for reading.

  • Informative post Praveen!

Though I am a freelance writer but I have yet to start with guest posts, something which many people have been asking me to do! I guess once I am through with my writing blog I would start with it.

But I loved the information shared here, and while some sites are known, a few of them are new to me as well. I have tried writing for a few of these sites, but the problem is always about writing an article and sending them, and then keep waiting endlessly for their reply.

Honesly speaking I gave up after 2-3 trials because you waste time writing a post and send it to them with no results. I guess that is one major drawback when you have to pitch your ideas and keep waiting.

I then tried O’Desk that isn’t about guest posts, but is a good platform for freelance writers and something that really does pay. Those were of course my inital days, and then work started flowing in.

Thanks for sharing, and it sure is a wonderful reminder for me to get down with guest posts now. And yes, I guess the answer lies in keeping on sending your posts even though they don’t get accepted. 🙂

    • Harleena – Thanks for providing such useful information and adding more value to this article.

I wasnt aware that some of the websites do not pay in time or even do not publish without any notice to the writer. That is really bad and one should really stay away from them.

I havent tried the O’Desk, I will surely check them out.

And hey, when you write guest posts, please remember to send it to DMC first 🙂

      Have a wonderful weekend.

  • Good information, Praveen! As Harleena said, I’ve heard that the queue is so very long at these sites that it is easy to get discouraged. I believe freelance writers should start their own blog, and spend the waiting time engaging on other sites via comments regularly. That’s time very well invested because, eventually, people approach you for guest posts, rather than the other way around. Building visibility matters, because with it comes credibility and trust, and better chances of being accepted.

    Cheers!

    • Rightly said Vidya. I wanted to provide some resources for all you writers out there who would want to make a quick buck for the amount of effort you spend writing such awesome stuff.

But yea, as you have said, getting known among the writers circles is very important and the foremost task for any newcomer.
