Every winter is difficult, or a tad depressing, to say the least. Hope you checked out this previous article to learn 6 Ways to Get your Winter Body ready for Summer!!This is probably because we drained our batteries in December, with all the Christmas parties, endless shopping sessions during which we had been looking for the perfect gifts for our loved ones, and the New Year’s party. January is a month of relaxation, a month during which we have no idea what to do. Going back to work and working on our New Year’s resolutions might not be something that is interesting, but there are certainly those activities that are perfect for this period. After all, winter is a great time to do one (or more) of the following things which we definitely recommend for some Fun activities to do this winter:
Immerse into a new reading adventure

The first and most obvious thing that you can do is start your New Year with a good book. Perhaps you’re an avid reader, which definitely means that you have your TBR list for this month, but if you’re not, you might as well choose a book or two to read this January. There are different websites such as Goodreads where you can see which book is popular at the moment, so why not spend your January days curled up in bed or on the sofa, drinking hot cocoa or coffee and traveling to a distant world of fiction?
Put on those skis

Next up in our list of Fun Activities to do this winter, there is an activity that’s perfect for January. Since this is the month that is associated with white color, why not make this happen and find yourself a nice ski lodge where you can go for a couple of days with your best friend, family member or significant other? If you happen to have a couple of days off, this might be the perfect way to spend your January. For all of those who have more than just a couple of days off – you can also opt for a trip to a European country such as Austria or Switzerland – they have amazing ski centers and mountains where you will certainly have the time of your life.
Scotch it up

Is there anything better than warming up with a hot beverage on a cold day? Yes, there is, and that is warming up with an alcoholic drink! Now, you can always opt for wine tastings, but you can leave that for summer and opt for a whiskey tasting instead. If you happen to have good distilleries in your vicinity, it would be a great idea to hit one over a weekend. However, if you really want a good whiskey tasting experience, then you should go to Australia as this is the country with some of the best types of whiskey in the world. Checking out the Archie Rose whiskey distillery is an amazing choice as you will get to stay in Australia and still enjoy glasses of amazing scotch.
Still partying

Unless you’re completely worn out from all the parties that took place in December, then you can also consider throwing your own, January party. This is always a great idea as you get to have all the loved ones around you, drinking and dancing the night away. Since you want this January party to be a bit different, you can organize a cocktail party where the guests will only drink cocktails and perhaps play board games – this is something that’s always interesting, especially for nights during which you have nothing better to do.
See some museums

Another one of the various Fun Activities to do this winter is going around your town or country and seeing different museums. Honestly, it seems that we care more about the culture, museums and landmarks of foreign countries, failing to learn something more about our own, and this is the month during which you can change that. Try to visit at least four new museums this month – one per week, advertise it on your social networks and learn more about your town, city or country.
Help out

Finally, why not combine helping other people and visiting a new country? If you haven’t thought of volunteering up until this point, perhaps this is the month when you should start. There are many places around the world where you can volunteer for two weeks or a month, so if you’re up for a challenge and new experiences, this might seem like a great idea (especially if you’re unemployed). Try to find the country that you would like to see and experience the most and voila!
Yes, January can be quite daunting and dull, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t spice it up a bit more with an activity that you rarely do. Choosing any of these will definitely make your January much more interesting, so what are you waiting for?
Great list! I prefer to spend these winter months with a good book or listening to audiobooks while taking a walking or cleaning the house.
I also play some computer games from time to time 🙂

I LIKE YOUR BLOG FUN ACTIVITIES TO DO THIS WINTER. WELL DONE I SHARE YOUR BLOG WITH MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS
For me it seems I prefer to put on those skis, where my country doesn’t have winter and in my opinion if later there is time to go to a country that has that climate I will ski there

Sure winter can drag on, when it’s bad weather my best time is spent in my workshop, here you can be creative making stuff, or tuning your skis, clean out the coffee machine, or even having a scotch while contemplating your next project
I am also writing to make you know of the fine experience our daughter developed checking your webblog. She realized some details, which include what it’s like to possess a great giving mood to make certain people just master a variety of complex subject matter. You really exceeded our expectations.
