My neighbor has an older version – by the time I thought about getting one for my daughter, she was already reading Harry Potter books. They are young for so short a time!
Quite true, I am still thinking of getting her some Dora toys while she is asking for LeapPad now….
If kids are exposed to Laptops and Smart phones, this might turn out to be boring 🙁 I got this one for my son but now have to do a second round to Toys R Us to return this.

The LPad is fit for toddlers from around age 3 to 6, I highly recommend pre-school kids to have this one as it will surely help them get prepared for their school-era.
