Another wonderful article by Missy on DailyMorningCoffee. Thanks for the contribution and I am sure my readers will enjoy this.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a bohemian traveler, a business traveler or a leisure seeker, there are certain perks and benefits you acquire through the sheer number of miles you rack up year after year.
Aside from the all the groovy fun, the people you meet and the places you get to visit and see, below are seven additional benefits and perks of good travel.
1. Travel Stories
One of the biggest perks of being an avid traveler is the rich stories you potentially walk away with while you’re globe trotting around. The cool places you get to see, the experiences you have are all fantastic fodder for campfire stories. What good is all that adventure if you don’t share it.
2. Great Date Ideas
If you’re single and on the prowl for a mate, your various trips in the US and abroad can serve as potential future destinations for romantic dates. Maybe you’ve been the Grand Canyon dozens of times over the last ten years and know every nook and cranny of this might vast landmark. Well your deep knowledge of the Grand Canyon could serve as a great tool to woo a potential mate. He or she could develop a powerful affection or attraction towards you via this deep and entrenched knowledge you so mightily possess.
3. Adventurous Trips
Those who are into adventure travel can appear quite irresistible to the opposite sex when confronted with a possible adventurous rendezvous. Imagine a white water rafter getting together with a skydiver, could this not be a match made in heaven – two thrill seekers looking for the ultimate high. Let others know that you have a thing for adventure travel and those interested will let themselves be known.
4. Locals Know You
How great is it when you visit some far off land and when you make a return visit, the locals remember you by name. This my friend is when you’ve made it in the travel world. Get to know the locals by spending time with them, become friends and visit often whenever you can.
5. Hot Deals From Agencies
Another big perk of constant travel is the hot deals you might be privy to from travel agents, car hire agencies, hotel operators and more. You can sign up for deals, you can let providers know by calling or emailing and you can simply let the proper parties know that you will be traveling to and from said destination. As a seasoned traveler you will learn the ropes of good discounts, hot deals and great travel opportunities in no time.
6. Better Love Life
Yes, a better love life is possible via travel when you bring along your significant other and treat him or her to the vacation of a lifetime. Planned in advance and booked solid by yours truly, all your partner has to do is relax and have a kick-butt, rocking, frolicking good time.
7. Travel Companies Will Send You Stuff
You could set up a travel blog and share your excursions with the world as many travelers do. When your blog becomes successful and popular, travel agencies and travel related providers will come a knocking on your doorstep and ask if they can send you stuff to review and write about. This is a tremendous perk and one that many current travel bloggers can attest to.
As you can see there are many benefits to good travel, what’s above is but a small sampling of the various perks. Feel free to share with me below how you have personally benefited from your travel excursions.

Wow Missy, great tips. Unfortunately I’m not a world traveler. I use to try and go some place really exotic or just fun every five years but it’s been awhile since I’ve taken a good vacation.
I do love to visit new places though and just check out the scenery and enjoy the culture. I can see where everything could come in quite handy too! 🙂
I like the travel blog idea where companies can actually send you stuff to review. Now that would be fun. Ah, too much on my plate already I’m afraid.
Adrienne – Thanks for stopping by. I encourage you to keep up that 5 year once or even more often vacations which will surely refresh and recharge your mind.
This article had some fresh perspective to my blog and I really liked the ideas put forth by Missy.
Have a great day.
Hi, Adrienne:
I agree with Praveen, do keep with your 5 year vacation plans. It’s good for the heart and soul. And if not, at least try a local USA staycation. Glad you enjoyed my article.
Hi Missy and Praveen,
Great tips here Missy! I used to be a flight attendant for a major Airline here in Atlanta, and I’ve always loved to travel domestically and abroad.
Although I haven’t been able to travel as often as I’d like to at the moment, I am hoping to be able to get back into the swing of things much sooner than later – if you know what I mean. 😉
I’ve also been seeing a lot images here lately of white sandy beaches and clear blue water on many of the blogs I frequent; I’m surely hoping this is a sign of what’s to come for me. It would be awesome if a beach is one of the next travel dates for me and mine! 🙂
Thanks for sharing this great information with us. Whether I end up travelling in the near or not so near future, I’ll be sure to keep these in mind.
Deeone – I can imagine how exciting your life would be as a flight attendant, travelling all over and visiting exotic places. I would love that career, atleast for a short while 🙂
Clear blue beaches are always tempting and I would spend an entire week in places like bahamas or the caribbean without caring for the entire world.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts.
Hi, Deeone:
Flight attendants get too see much of the world. I have a friend who is one and has been for close to 20 years, so he has pretty much been everywhere and he must love his job since he’s been doing it for so long.
Great that you stopped by. Cheers!
Nice
Thanks Suraj
that’s so right Praveen
each time i travel i gain lots of benefits
thank you 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Farouk. Glad you liked it.
Traveling is such a feel-good experience and it is true that it also broadens the mind. I loved this article by Missy! Thank you for sharing, Praveen. We find that one of our favorite topics at home is “when we went to….remember how….” and that goes on for hours and hours. Instant mood-upper!
🙂 Cheers!
Vidya – Yes, you are right, we always cherish our vacations and they stay forever in our minds. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.
Hi, Vidya:
Howdy. Glad you enjoyed my article. The Daily Morning Coffee is a great site with a nice active audience. I quite enjoyed writing this article and the beach pic is not too bad an eye candy.
Keep an eye out for my other articles.
Cheers,
Missy
Praveen,
I temporarily “lost myself” in the photo. lol Mmmm I feel a beach calling me gently.
These are some fine tips here. I need some travel right about now. All though I tend to live in a “postcard” setting, I could use a change of scenery and think that a warm, sandy beach is next on my jetsetter plans. 🙂
Cat
Cat – It is always refreshing to think of relaxing on a beach all day, with your favorite novel in hand. Lazing through the day and not caring about anything else will really revitalize your mind.
Thanks for stopping by and Have a great weekend.
Hahaha Oh yes it is, my friend!
I have made some travel plans for the weekend through next week, but we will be playing in the snow this go-round. Next up will probably be some beach time. I will have to consider my options…I feel relaxed just thinking about it. 😉
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!! Enjoy!!
Cat
You have a wonderful time Cat…
I sure will amigo! Thanks!!
Thanks, Cat.
